Material Handler (early week)

JOB TITLE:  Material Handler                            FLSA STATUS:   Non-exempt

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE:  Lead Material Handler

General Summary:  Responsible for loading semi-trucks and railcars with product, maintaining Distillers product for proper quality and quantity by using proper machinery, and always work in a safe manner in all areas of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load DDGS in semi-trucks and railcars
• Load ethanol in railcars meeting all federal, state, and local hazardous material regulations
• Maintain consistent railcar inspections for each tank car before, during and after loading
• Ensure the quality of product being shipped is of excellent standard
• Move railcars within the plant site
• Load Modified Distillers Grains into semi-trucks by use of end loader
• Communicate with maintenance department for timely repairs, routine maintenance and to keep areas clean and safe
• Coordinate the shipping of products with the railroad line and the office staff. 

Education and Experience:  Experience in truck loading and unloading, railcar loading, front end loader, skid loader and railcar mover is preferred. 

Physical Requirements:  Must have ability to lift at least 50 pounds, must have the ability to climb ladders and work at heights of at least 30 feet and must have ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.  Must be willing to work overtime.

Working Conditions:  Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, and dusty conditions. Also exposure to chemicals and heavy moving machinery.
