High School Ministry Worship Leader
General Description
The HSM Worship Leader
is responsible for advancing the mission of the High School Ministry, leading
the HSM worship community, and discipling students to use their musical gifts
for the Kingdom of God.
Essential Job
Functions
·
Leading
worship, preparing for services, stewarding worship ministry materials,
recruiting and developing worship team members, teaching, and discipleship.
·
Other
duties and responsibilities as assigned by the High School Pastor.
Worship Leading
·
Lead worship at least once a month for a Sunday and
Wednesday service.
·
Lead worship at all camps, mission trips, worship
nights and special events.
·
Join with the Sanctuary Team for Before the Throne
and for other special events and services when requested by Worship Pastor.
Service
Preparation
·
Organize and regularly update our Teams in Planning
Center and help get new students up on the Services and Prime MultiTrack Apps.
·
Schedule musicians, singers and tech for all
services and events.
·
Send reminder texts and/or emails about upcoming
services, and schedule replacements if necessary
·
Manage and operate Planning Center & Prime
Multi-track Apps
·
Upload set lists to Apps in advance for students to
practice with.
·
Oversee all audio/visual tech and stage set up as when
needed.
·
Oversee and coach rehearsals on Sunday mornings and
Wednesday nights.
·
Coordinate with HSM Pastor and student worship
leaders to choose songs that are in alignment with Grace Chapel’s theology and
are applicable to the weekly message.
·
Assist student worship leaders with choosing keys,
planning song-flow and delegating songs to singers on their teams.
Recruiting
and Development
·
Identify, connect with, and recruit musically
inclined students to serve in the high school worship ministry.
·
Schedule, promote and oversee quarterly auditions.
·
Train all musician and singers to use and steward HSM
equipment. (Instruments, Kemper Profilers, Mainstage, In-ears monitors, etc…)
·
Strategically organize the students into set worship
teams taking into account each student’s talent level, spiritual maturity and
availability and choose a student to lead each team.
·
Intentionally disciple and pour into each worship
team leader and help them to raise up and disciple other students they see as
potential team leaders in the future.
·
Recruit students to serve on the tech team and
connect them with our tech staff members to be trained and mentored.
·
Film and upload the worship sets each week and send
them to the team leaders as a training tool to review with their bands.
·
Work together with the students who aren’t quite
ready to be on a team to assess and identify areas of needed growth and equip
them with the proper tools and encouragement to help them improve.
·
Clearly, effectively and regularly communicate vision,
mission, culture and expectations. Lead by example, by demonstrating it both on
and off stage.
·
Keep students accountable to living lives that are
above reproach. Help navigate interpersonal conflicts and sin issues and
involve parents or other staff members when appropriate.
·
Coordinate with the leaders of MSM, 1NE, and the
Sanctuary Team to plan, promote and recruit teachers for quarterly Worship
Workshops.
·
Continually curate a “master list” of the songs that
we currently sing in HSM and update our Spotify Playlists accordingly.
·
Equip the students with resources, books and/or
curriculum that will help them grow in their gifts and spiritual maturity.
Teaching/Discipleship
·
Develop, prepare and lead teachings for events and
services. This position will step into the teaching role on Sunday and
Wednesday when the HSM pastor is scheduled in other places or unavailable to
teach.
·
Lead a small group on Wednesday nights and connect
with your students during the week.
·
Host services, make announcements, and give the call
to worship when asked to by the HSM Pastor.
Stewardship
·
Responsible for maintaining and keeping track of all
HSM’s musical and tech equipment.
·
Responsible for keeping the worship closet clean and
organized.
·
Responsible for keeping the barn stage clean and
tidy.
·
Responsible for developing and stewarding the HSM
Worship Budget

·
This
position requires a person who loves Jesus and has a passionate heart for His
harvest.
